Mixing styles

Now if you introduce elements into your style that do not rely on, or even worse, violate these principles, then you may just be diluting it.

 

That is an extremly good point. It makes you think.

 

Also with learning a bunch of differnt styles especially the uncommon ones, lets say you end up moving to a small town or city they may not have anyone who teaches the same style. They may not recognise your techniques and you might be back to square one again as a white belt in a differnt style.

 

Now if you learned one of the more common ones. Ie: Shotokan, ITKD, Judo, Western Boxing. Most places will have those and you can continue your training where you should be.

 

Thats just my opinion.
