Karate and Judo differences

Recommended Posts

I never trained in it ;) don't take it so personnel i just said you were to one sided, not you should train in other MA.

The amateur shoots his hands out ferociously, but lacks any true power. A master is not so flamboyant, but his touch is as heavy as a mountain.

yeah i know im one sided, and im gonna be one sided. theres nothin anyones gonna do to change that. man i love my style, its everything to me, beacuse iv become really good at it, iv beaten a TKDist, i got in a street fight and it helped me out, i broke the kids floating rib with a reverse punch, i herd it snap. so i know it works in the street, and im gonna proove that shotokan karate can fight against other styles, like iv sadi when i get to 3rd dan thats when im going to go to the big MA compitions and proove myself and show how fast, how powerfull, how effective shotokan karate really is. im not saying im the best, i know im not, but i will try to be.

i am one sided and proud of it, funakosh may have trained in different styles but im not, im dedicating my life to shotokan, iv been doing it for 2 years exactly, and im not stoping ever. i know alot about shotokan i have determination mentally and physically. you guys all may have trained in shotokan but did you stay with it no you QUIT. thats the difference between me any you im not going to QUIT.

May I respectfully say that the point trying to be made here is that Shotokan Karate itself has many techniques and theories taken from other arts so if you study Shotokan you are being exposed to all of those arts. Hence, Shotokan does not stand by itself as a unique art it is a SYSTEM. It is then logical that the arts that were borrowed from have some merit and validity and should not be discounted. :) Devotion and loyalty to your art is admirable and definitely speaks to your committment but the founders of Shotokan understood the importance of living life harmoniously among ALL and strove to teach their students to resolve conflicts peacefully through training, study, and understanding of not only others but yourself as well.

i know that it may help if i do study other arts, but i dont want to, in shotokan we learn throws, but that is until like 3rd dan and i wont change styles at all until i am at least a 5th dan in shotokan, then i may think about it.
