street fighter Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 What happens if you bow and he kicks you in the face? Dim Mak is that what they call the death touch? Survivor
1kickKO Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Sure is...in dim mak they believe there are areas of the body that have channels..which energy/blood flows through. When you disrupt this flow, it can cause death, distraction, pain, constipation/diahreea, paralysis, etc..
street fighter Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Im glad those folks dont do MMA compititions and disrupt the flow of someones charka. Survivor
1kickKO Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Haha I'm just glad I haven't had to run into anybody who practices this art, as I've had to learn a few areas which can cause sudden death and/or knockout and/or constipation..haha..and we had to experiment with it, like the knockout touches (we had to hit each other, but extremely lightly just to experiment the dizziness efect of it) and it is definitely not fun.
street fighter Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 I have never trained in "dim mak" so I will reserve my comments to only what I have trained in and those I have trained with. Maybe some of the vital strikes I have done would be considered Dim Mak but I only know them as vital strikes or soft targets but, I am curious to why no one uses them in MMA. You and I both know that if twenty people learn this art of Dim Mak that at least 1 would try and capitalize on it, so not to be hateful but still question what I do not understand, "wheres the beef". I have trained with different folks and have yet to find the "death touch" even though I know if I strike the neck hard enough it could kill or the temple or the sternum but maybe thats the problem we do call them Dim MAk we just call the soft targets and are aware of the possible dangers. Looking forward to your response, and I am not trying to be an * just I really am doubtful of some of the socalled MA's out there. Survivor
1kickKO Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 No problemo, it's not much of a "mystical art" moreso than a reailty art. It focuses on all weak parts of the body (scientifically tested) to where the right nerves are, to the places that can cause blood flow to stop, etc...It's called the death touch because it is just that, they focus on only points that will disable their opponent quickly..in dim mak the point isn't to stand their fighting like a champ, it's just to hit, hurt, and haul it...haha
street fighter Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 just pound'em, that seems to work as well. Survivor

username9 Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 *! the best self defense is Jeet Kune Do, the style bruce lee founded, created and developed. all the rest are crap, no one in all time will ever beat bruce lee's Jeet Kune Do style. JKD was and still is the ultimate martial art style that bruce lee used, and no other martial artist will ever match. and thats why they always say countless times, that bruce lee was way ahead of his time! he was ahead of his time 25 years ago...dont be closed minded...besides JKD is a theory.. I know this is a very old thread by now but I wanted to comment on this...... martialartist1 seems to know nothing about JKD and reckons it is the best!1 Sorry pal but don't be a muppet!
