Warp Spider Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 Warp Spider, brawling definently should not be on the list... its not even a fighting style. I think brawling is a style - it's not really formally taught or trained, but more an inherent capability that most humans seem to have, I still think it qualifies because simply going on your gut instincts on what would probrably cause harm can still be quite effective. Cavemen certainately had no formal "style," but I'm sure they still had some mean scraps occasionally. Paladin - A holy beat down in the name of God!
aznkarateboi Posted July 14, 2003 Author Posted July 14, 2003 maybe, but I think that other martial arts that you didn't include can do damage more efficiently than untrained brawling
Warp Spider Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 Well, yes, they probrably can. However, I think brawling is effective in any circumstance and although it's not the most efficient art, it can still be quite effective. The moves are crude, but some I feel still have a place in a trained fighter's arsenal. (NFL-style tackle, spear, clinch & punt, headbutt, shove & trip, etc.) Paladin - A holy beat down in the name of God!

Treebranch Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 Sorry bro, I studied TKD and it doesn't really prepare you for real attacks. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
TJS Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 I dont see TKD on any of the lists......what's up???? because TKD generally trains you to do the reverse of what you should do in a fight.

Prodigal Son Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 I dont see TKD on any of the lists......what's up???? Yah - TKD fighters are too easy. For some weird reason they keep turning round and jumping about when they should be fighting. Pieces of wood ARE terrified of TKD guys though. >>>PS<<< ------------------------------------------------------------------------Self-defense is only an illusion, a dark cloak beneath which lurks a razor-sharp dagger waiting to be plunged into the first unwary victim. aznkarateboi Posted July 15, 2003 Author Posted July 15, 2003 Yeah, TKD Chosen One, TKD simply isn't one of the more effective stand-up arts.
