And for the record saying bo staff is like saying bo bo or staff staff. It is like using the same word twice in a row. The correct usage is to use only one word at a time.

Like soccerball ball or baseball ball. The Bo staff, I mean the Bo is a great and versatile weapon.

Like saying "PIN Number", that's actually saying Personal Identification Number Number

But that's a bit off topic.. so to bring it back.. what are peoples' favorite bo kata? Can anyone recommend a good kata for a beginner? I have only learnt one called Shushi no Bo so far.

Musashi lost against a master of the Bo. The Bo is and awesome weapon. The Yari or Spear is even better.

isn't that considered a quarter staff?

Well i think they are the same thing only:

Quarterstaff is a weapon used by english peasants i the past because its cheap.

BO is a weapon used by martial artists.

So both are basically the same thing except Qstaff is the western name and Bo is the eastern.
