Warp Spider Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 There is always a high chance that Tyson will lose because most of the UFC guys are way more skilled than Tyson when it comes to fighting skills. How would you know? Have you ever fought the guy? Obviously there's a lot of stuff he couldn't do in the ring (but tries anyway ) that he could do in UFC. He could be the best grappler in the world and you wouldn't know it because he doesn't use it in the ring, and that's likely the only place you've seen him fight. TJS Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 He could be the best grappler in the world and you wouldn't know it because he doesn't use it in the ring no he couldent and he isint...he has said so himself...he said he would not fight in a NHB event because he is only trained to fight with his hands..noty with kicks, knees, elbows, takedowns etc...this is all from him.
martialartist1 Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 yeh, simply tyson would win most of the time, as tyson is one of the greatest boxers of all time!
Treebranch Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 So what if Tyson prepares and learns some grappling, say BJJ. What then? "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
TJS Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 So what if Tyson prepares and learns some grappling, say BJJ. What then? Mike Tyson would be the standup figheter in the UFC or pride..If he learned how to grapple and learned how to avoid takedowns he would proabably be one of the best fighters in the world(outside boxing) Mike has incredible KO power and few would be able to stand with him. He would also need to do some cross training in Muay thai so he could learn how to deal with leg kicks and not get KO'd by a knee from the clinch. but that will never happen..there isint enough money in the NHB for him to put it on the line.
StoneSkin Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Yeah I agree Tyson would probably do better in WWE there is more money to be made there.

Well, I could say that I have no idea how to walk, but it would be a lie. I'd sure have the element of surprise in the Special Olympics though! Dahahahah! TJS Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 yes im sure your right..i bet top boxers spend alot of time grappling so they can train less in boxing whitch is their job.
Warp Spider Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 I'm not saying that he is a good grappler, I'm just saying it's unfair to assume that he is not a good grappler just because that's what he said. I'm sure for most of you, martial arts is not your job, but that doesn't mean you don't train in it. Paladin - A holy beat down in the name of God!
TJS Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 I'm just saying it's unfair to assume that he is not a good grappler just because that's what he said Yes it is perfectly fair and any reasonalable person would assume so..If George Bush said he wasant a good grappler I would proabably belive him along witht he rest of the world.I'm sure for most of you, martial arts is not your job, but that doesn't mean you don't train in it. If i Made Millions fighting with my hands I wouldent spend alot of time learning to fight with anything else...I dont think yo understand how much time a Pro boxer spends training.
