sansoouser
I have 2 dogs a male and female, the female keeps clawing at the doors and escaping and running around. My dads friend thinks that if we got a puppy it would solve the problem because he had the same problem and got a puppy and it solved it, so if you have any other ideas please tell me. chh
She's not in heat, is she? Not sure how a puppy would solve the problem...if she's not in heat my guess would be she needs more exercise and training.
Fenris-wolf
Hum. I don't think a puppy's a good idea -buy a puppy when you need one and have the time/energy to look after one! And I agree with Chh, she probably needs more exersize. If she's on heat... Well, is she neutered/is the male dog neutered/has she had puppies/how old is she... I dunno, eh. But if she is on heat, keep a close eye on her!! Or you might have puppies sooner than you expected. Of course, it may just be her personality, but even if that's the case you could at least alleviate it by taking her out more (ie: to the park/beach/for runs/playing games not going to the movies. Yeah, that was pretty cheap) Let Us Turn The Jump Rope In Accord With Socialist Principles!
sansoouser
shes not in heat, and they have been spade and neutered, but it's just been lately when she gets like this, so I dunno. Guest
I think the clawing is wanted to go outside for some reason. Try to figure out why!
Warp Spider
You could use negative reinforcement to stop it from clawing at the door. An electric fence assembly on the door. Or you could just monitor it and throw things whenever it's bad. Or if you have a low-friction floor nearby you can put it on there and spin it around really fast. Any of those would work. Guest
lol.. spin it around really fast.. I did that to my girlfriend's dog then threw her toy. Apparently my GF didn't think it was funny when her dog ran into the wall...
