My point is exactly as you read it. I would never try to pin someone down to beat them silly knowing that the second attacker is moving in. I'd rather run like the wind.

Well at least you're realistic! (I'd do the same thing) -- That's why Benn makes it a point to say that the good thing about knee-on-stomach is that you don't actually follow them to the ground. It is a position that provides a ton of mobility and the ability to run very quickly if need be.

So we agree on your end-point (running is better). But I think you're confused on the positioning a little, because knee on stomach allows you to look up and examine potential threats, as well as to run if need be.

I would assume it's takes a lot of practice to be proficient in that technique. I'd like to see a demo of that. I haven't practiced much multiple attacker defense.

Are you referring to the knee on stomach position?

Or to Treebranch's alignment idea?

Both.

Ok. Let me try to find some videos of knee-on-stomach. Might take me a while because I'm at work and doing this in my spare time.

Treebranch, do you have any videos of San Soo being used (realistically) against multiple opponents?

Yes it does take alot of practice, it's really fun to do. Unless the 2 attackers have had alot of practice attacking one person, well that might be another story. Hopefully you'll sense that these guys have experience and run or pick up a foreign object and use it to your advantage. For example in a bar it could be an ash tray, bottle, glass, knock a stool in their path. On the street depending on where you are there might be some things around you can use. It all depends on you. When you go into a place look at the entrances, exits, and what could be used as weapons. It sounds nuts, but if you do this long enough it become part of you and if a situation breaks out, you will have an advantage. Another great thing to carry with you anywhere you go, is a nice strong metal writing pen. This can be used in many ways that are very effective. You can take a pen anywhere, no one will question why you have such a lovely pen. :)

Great, thanks.

And don't worry, I won't tell your boss.

Take your time. I'm going to sneak out of the office now and lose a dozen golf balls on the course, err, should I say off the course. :D

No I don't, but I'll ask around. :)

Here. I found a video clip of a Kung Fu San Soo teacher teaching multiple opponent defenses and defense against the guard. I pray to God that nobody seriously thinks this stuff will work!

The mother website has links to various San Soo videos.

Still looking for a knee-on-stomach clip.
