kickboxing is a big word...it can mean alot of things..you would have to narrow it down.

Kickboxing as it is, its Just a sport. If you say, Muay Thai, then that can be consider as a kickboxing style with self defense use.

 

strenghts: quick to learn, awesome conditioning, real contact training.

 

Weaknesses: too sportive (limited to certain techniques), sometimes not even consider as a self defense art.

 

Kung Fu. Strenghts: training and conditioning of all part of the body.

 

Weaknesses: sometimes tends to be too flowerish and contains too many fancy techniques, too much into forms without applications, takes too many time to start using the techniques.

 

Again, depends on the style.

Kung Fu is a huge, general term that doesn't even specifically apply to martial arts. Kickboxing is another general term. That makes it kind of hard to compare and contrast, eh?

I agree with Kyle-san, there are many types of Kung-Fu styles.

 

Kickboxing is also a pretty General.

 

Which Style of kickboxing?

 

American Kickboxing.

 

Muay Thai.

 

Savate.

 

Le boxing de francais.

 

Im sure there are others just cant think of them.
