emir45
How you guys doing? Well, I cannot find any nunchuk stores and I don't know where to get them. But in my case, I personally feel like making my own. I think it would be stronger and better, but I dont' know how. The biggest factor is that I don't have a clue on what to use when connecting the rope to the 2 pieces of wood. I already bought the wood and sanded it and smoothened it, but I don't know what to use or how to connect the string so it does not fall off. PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS, I THANK YOU A LOT FOR ANY INFORMATION.
Pepparoo
hmmm cant really help you there, you're probably better off buying. I bought some Foam one's with a chain as opposed to string from my MA teacher for about £3... so fairly cheap but im just a beginner in nunchuks. Your probably best ask your MA teacher about getting you some, or you can always buy online.

Martial_Artist
Legality issues. You'd better check with local regulations just to be sure. If possession alone is an offense then it's best not to make a pair. Which could come across even worse in the eyes of an over zealous DA. Find out your local laws, then ask again. If it's legal someone here might be able to help. MA. "I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination.Imagination is more important than knowledge.Knowledge is limited. tommarker
I wouldn't worry too much about the legality. The ATF isn't going to kick down your door for a pair of nunchaku. In most places in the USA, you can legally own, buy, and sell nunchaku. Most laws refer to the carry of nunchaku, especially in a concealed manner. Fair or not, a lot of legislation was enacted in the 70s and 80s after the Bruce Lee movies made nunchaku popular and a few gang kids were caught with them. So they were viewed as "evil" weapons like the switchblade and butterfly knife. If you were carrying them in your bag, with a nicely folded karate uniform on your way to class, I doubt you'd have anything to worry about. You have a reasonable right against search and seizure unless you're suspected of committing a crime. Obviously if you're grain thresher is dripping blood and there is a dude with his head cracked like a melon 10 feet away... As for building them, check this place out: http://www.seishinkan.com/seishin/sskbuki/howto/nunstring01.htm The instructions are for how to string a pair on nunchaku, but they demonstrate with a pair of nunchaku that have been cut down the middle. This hollowed out view should give you a good idea as to how the holes should be drilled. With a drill and a router bit, you should be able to do it, no problema. Use some good 550 paracord (get it from a camping store) and it will last almost forever Good luck with the chucks... I'd love to see a picture when you're done! Tom I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
