Ti Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 In that scene the Wing Chun guy was expecting a upperbody approach by his opponent. It was HIS mistake not Wing Chun. By his body language you can tell he completely expected a an upperbody appraoch as opposed to the dive. If he was more prepared he cuold have kneed the guy in the face when he dove or kick him in the face.
Kirves Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 he cuold have kneed the guy in the face Could've, would've, should've... It's not about what he theoretically might have done. It is what he did. Period. The buck stops there. Martial arts are in the doing, not in what might be.
Drunken Monkey Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 i think it was a case of what he didn't do and by this i mean really prepare for the fight. i would've thought that you would train for the environment. it is well known that the ufc and the like is dominated by grappling arts. to expect your art, which has no history against grappling, to be effective is a bit half-brained. while i'm sure all the grapplers train with strikers in mind. like i almost said before, the wing chun guy just wasn't prepared for the shoot. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
