King of Fighters Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Im gonna try and keep this short. I have had macintosh computers all my life because thats all my dad buys. I hate macs because they cant play any games or use kazaa or mirc, so finally i have been saving up for a new computer. Im getting my pc from a guy my friend knows that makes custom computers for a really good price. My computer will be pretty good and will be able to run most games, which bings me to my point. With the leftover money, what game should i buy first? I will only have enough for about 1 or 2 games. Sio i am wondering if everyone could name e some good games for pc that might be good to get and maybe say in short whats so great about them. Since i have had a mac, i am not overly fimilar with pc games and i have just been a console gamer for the last few years, so please at least put what genre the game is.
monkeygirl Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 OK first off, what are the stats on this comp, and how much did you pay? 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
Martial_Artist Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Yes. Stats. "I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination.Imagination is more important than knowledge.Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." Einstein
Radok Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Don't buy game, download off KazaA If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point. Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.
SBN Doug Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 First off, as already stated, give us the tech info on it. If you want to play any of the high end, 3D, first person type games, you better have a high end video card in there that's specifically designed for gaming. they will range in price from $70-$250 U.S. My son had intermittent problems with his Flight Simulator, and his SimCity$ and Battlefield 1942 wouldn's run at all. Turned out, we just needed a better vid card with the extra Ram right on it. Now it works great. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.

Martial_Artist Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 OK, nice. What type of games do you like? First-person shooters, simulation games, strategy? SBN Doug Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Oh yeah, I think you're ready to rock. If you don't want anything violent, all the "Sims" titles are a hit with my teen and almost teen. Sim City Sim Theme Park Sim Zoo The Sims The Battlefield 1942 is a first person shooter, but not blood and gore like so many others. I approved my almost teen to play it. I'll never let them have Diablo, Duke Nuke'em, etc. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
monkeygirl Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 The Sims is an awesome game, especially with the expansion packs. Very fun to play. A lot of console games are published for PCs as well. The Final Fantasy series, for example, is on PC (at least after 7). 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
