owthathurts Posted September 30, 2001 Posted September 30, 2001 Hello everybody newbie here! Glad to see we finally have a section just dedicated to Kung-fu! Well I am learning wushu right now, and so far I am able to practice at home. But I'm worried about where I will practice once we start doing jump movements, or movements that require a lot of room. I live in a apartment so there's really very little I can practice without disturbing the neighbors. I thought about practicing at the park, but I live in Seattle so it rains all the time. Especially now that it's getting cold practicing in the park doesn't seem like a good idea. Does anybody know of a good place to practice? Thanks
moobrack Posted September 30, 2001 Posted September 30, 2001 Try moving the sofa in your lounge and the table or anyhting you can to make room. Then you're up and away. Anthony Bullock1st Dan Black Belt - Shotokan Karate5th Kyu Yellow Belt - Aiki-Jutsuhttps://www.universaldojo.com Coming Soon

owthathurts Posted September 30, 2001 Author Posted September 30, 2001 Hey guys Thanks for the replies... A couple things though, I can't practice on the roof because...well it would be dangerous It's not one of those large apartments with stairs that lead up to the roof. Our apartment in only like two floors. And I live on the top floor. When I practice at home I do move all my furniture into a corner to make more room. But that still wouldn't allow me to do jumps because I don't want to disturb the people that live downstairs. I have thought about practicing outside, and I would if it was sunny in Seattle. But it's usually raining here, plus winter is coming up so I wouldn't be able to practice outside. Unless I wanted to slip and slide all over the wet grass while landing from a jump. The open gym idea I've thought about. Never gone to one before is there usually a lot of people there? Is there a lot of room to practice large motions? Thanks guys
