delta1 Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 A good back fist, properly executed, is the most potent fist strike in your arsenal. Any one who teaches different is a McInstructor! As an 8th deg., I suppose that makes him close to a McMaster? Freedom isn't free!
Pacificshore Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Hmm.......backfist, rising backfist, raking backfist, downward backfist, inverted backfist..............anymore variations Well seems to be a rather effective strike depending on target placement and all Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
SBN Doug Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 As an 8th deg., I suppose that makes him close to a McMaster? McMaster? That flows really good! I think that one could catch on. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
G95champ Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Yeah I like that as well. McMaster with cheese LOL (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
Ti Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 back fist works great. If you are in a position to use it, then use it by all means. it hurts.
TJS Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 risky...the only time i would use it is if i was comming around from a missed round kick or something.
kenpo4life Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 If he believes that a backfist is useless, he does not deserve that rank. Every tool has a job, just know when to use it If my survival means your total destruction, then so be it.
Kyle-san Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 The backfist is one of the quickest and easiest techniques that you can use. I use it consistantly.
StoneSkin Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 A back fist is a good attack but it leaves your guard open.
JerryLove Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 A good back fist, properly executed, is the most potent fist strike in your arsenal. Any one who teaches different is a McInstructor! Interestingly, that's the title I'd put on anyone making the claim you just did. I like backfists, don't get me wrong, but "most potent"? By definition, your body's not behid the hit; the musles involved in delivering (quadracep and back of the forearm) are not the strongest, waist movement is more limited, and the striking surface is less resiliant than in several other hits. I tend to think of the open hand as the most useful single strike; and probibly the punch as next in line (though I have a fondness for the whip as well). https://www.clearsilat.com
