Couldn't really vote with only those choices.

Normal class, we train on low pile carpet.

For throwing, on mats.

I also train at home, in shoes, outside, on pavment and turf.

Each have pros and cons

Wood is great but it does get slick espically when it gets wet.

Carpet is ok except for the rug burns you get on your feet from time to time.

Mats I don't like. Sure its great if you are working throws and take downs but I have troulbe shifting on them cause my feet tend to stick.

Tile not as good as wood and more slick.

Stone as in Concrete sucks but if thats all you got then hey. Ive done it several times. It kills my joints.

Ground as long as the grass is cut and its not muddy its pretty good.

i like training outside on thr ground, get the fresh air, grapple and get dirt in your mouth......training outside in any environment is what i mean by ground, asphalt in the parking lot, back yard, whatever, the ground....sorry i left out the carpets, i don't like the rug burn.......

That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger

When I was younger I liked hard wood but now that I am older I appreciate a well padded gymnastics floor or short carpet. I also love to train outside in the early morning dew during the summer!
