In my dojo we graduate in every 3 moths. But i've alaways though that it would take much more time for grading. How is it in your dojo?

do you cover alot of moves, katas, selfdefenses and such?

in my school it takes over 3 months of classes to cover everything for that particular rank, nobody ever has back to back testing, except on very rare occasions and that is only for lower belts if they really have a good grasp on the material and know what they are doing.

I think it's every three months till we get to red. I donno yet, cause I am allowed to double test. I'll find out when I get my blue belt again (I'm no longer allowed to double test then).

We have a class requirement rather than time requirement at the present, but it usually works out to be 3-4 months at lower levels, 5-6 at higher. There is going to be a change though: 3 months between each belt white-blue, 6 months between blue-black, with the addition of an additional belt rank of Sr. red belt. It all totals 36 months-if you test on time.

At least 3 months but more if you not ready. No sooner.

about three to four months for kyu ranks, usally leaning more towards 4, but you usally remain a brown belt for about a year before moving on the shodan. Im not sure about nidan and sandan is only conducted a certain events. in front of a blackbelt panel of masters.
