Treebranch Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 Very good point GreenDragon. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
telsun Posted July 1, 2003 Author Posted July 1, 2003 I remeber reading a world reknown martial artist criticising triaditional MA'ists striking the air as it has no benefits. Your points are valid ones and elaborate on my own thinking, thank you for your input. I keep asking God what I'm for and he tells me........."gee I'm not sure!"
Rich_2k3 Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Getting the entire dojo using bags for training is very expensive, you'd need alot if every ones going to train, unless you take turns on the bags but thats pretty poor if your going to do that all the time. Warp Spider Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 I'd have to say bags/other people (willing people preferably ) are way better than using the air. The air is fine for when you are first learning a technique but things such as balance will not be accurately simulated by attacking air - when you strike something solid it can prevent you from losing your balance where a "missed" move could move you off balance. It's much better for combinations for that reason if you are hitting something. Paladin - A holy beat down in the name of God!
