complicated but i think it works...

Hi..

well, i'll try to do my best to explain my thoughts since my english sucks, so please be patient.

all right... we know that in regular sparring ( not full contact, or a SF, a ligh contact sparring ) peolpe use to throw 4 punches in 2 steps almost always.

for example: Kizami Zuki + Gyaku zuki ( that's 2 punches 1 step )

or

Kizami zuki + gyaku zuki then oi zuki ( step foward punch ) + gyaku zuki...

Ya know? ( 4 punches 2 steps )

SO i was thinkin, wut if i add a few punches while steppin...

like this:

Original: Oi zuki+ Gyaku ( 1 step 2 punches )

"my version": Oi zuki and then while doing the feet transition throw a gyaku, a tsuki, then again an oi zuki ( cause when u finish the step you'll be doing the punch with the lead hand ) and then the gyaku!

ya know? that you'd be 2 steps 5 punches...

i dunno if that was a good example cause oi zuki is always complicated to combo with other punch moves in my opinion...

But the important thing is that you guys get the main idea ya know?

wut do you think about that? :brow:

If you could improve yourself in only three or two months, everybody would be invencible...

i guess i found a better example:

kizami zuki+gyaku zuki ( feet transition ) then a front punch a gyaku again, and then u'll finish with a gyaku or a kizami zuki dependin on your speed...

that could be 6 punches 1 step i guess..

but to do to this you have to be very very fast...

Yes adding a technique on the forward motion is something that should be practiced if your ability will allow it.

You got the right idea so I will not elaborate on that. But don't forget back fist (Uraken). Also when you step up to the mid point step forward with the same leg rather than stepping through. This is a much better way of chasing your opponent and will keep your strong side forward or back depending upon how you like to fight. You will also find it is much faster than stepping through. Although it may take practice.

All right! ehehhehehe that kinda of steppin is my speciallity, we call it here sobre-passo in portuguese... but i'm trainin the oi zuki step, i wanna master it hehehehehe not that i've mastered the other steps, my i like this one better heehehehe :D

the mae geri technique on the last move will probably work cause the opponent will be focused on the hand movements, so kick would be a good idea too...

Your refering to 1,3, and 5 step sparring I think and yes their are certin traditional combos used that IMO need taught just because it is eaisy as a teach to watch the group and make sure everyone is doing the same thing. However you are free to play with and change them to fit yourself and better yourself. I see no problem in making changes here and there to give you and your students a better look.

None of those moves would work, why? Well because they are all moves from typical traditional asian arts, which are pointless and not meant for sparring.

They will work very well in Karate sparring. But I agree in "fighting" they would not be so effective unless the opponent was running backwards.

I see what you're saying and doing MuayThai Fighter.

I think pointless is a little harsh, maybe even naive................. :)

"maybe even naive"

couldn't have said it better my self. you know, mr./ms. thai fighter muay thai is not the center of the martial arts universe. a part of me hopes you meet some tai chi fighter who whoops up on you just to prove a point.

Some people should think before they speak. To say things are pointless is just showing someone's ignorance. Muy Thai Fighter you just don't know what your looking at. Some Martial Arts are for people that are smart.
