KARATE Fighters and Music

Hmmm, I don't listen to music while training...

I'm also sort of a geek, so I listen to a lot of anime soundtracks or game soundtracks.

I also like classical and JAZZ and BLUES a lot, maybe throw in some alternative music (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, I know, they are really different from eachother, but I lumped them together anyway, hah!) or others (Sublime).

have you heard taku iwasaki's samurai x soundtrack? brilliant!

SIGH, yes, I've heard the soundtrack to the RUROUNI KENSHIN OAV's....stupid company changing name to Samurai X...oh well...yeah, I liked the way they worked the music in for that one.

I for one am a big fan of Kanno Youko, arguably one of the most versatile in terms of multi-genre music composers out there and she sounds great! Think Escaflowne, Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop, inumerable others...

Heh, that's my rant...

OK, random yes, but: How can you not?? Sometimes we don't have music, but when I was training by myself in the mornings, I discovered how depressing it is without background noise. I don't know, maybe I'm weird, but I find music is great for relaxing and motivating (these two can go together) when you're doing stuff.

i'm again with ms. wolf, but i suppose a lack of music to some can be peaceful. my older sister dosen't like listening to music, i don't understand it. something about how "nothing manmade can over shadow natures beauty". but when she says it like that i sound like the evil one. :P

that's what i pointed out :D when she said this, we were sitting on a pier at a lake and all i could hear was the man made boat creaking, the man made cars driving on the man made pavement far off, and the man made door being slammed by some man in a cabin a ways away. granted, the sky was pretty do to the man made pollution, and i guess i could hear the waves made by the man made boats, but...

Well, sometimes I do listen to music while studying, but when I'm doing karate, I tend to focus on just that. Especially when doing kata, because I'm keeping the bunkai in mind, visualization, and all that.

But when I am doing something like using an exercise bike or just flat out working out, I do listen to music sometimes. Usually something upbeat and fast. Hehe, you can find a lot of that in anime music as well.
