ok now people be really really really honest with me........for all the competitive people in the martial arts how much does your training cut into your social life

for me between working, school and training i have NO time for dating or hanging out with my buddies......its kinda put a cramp in dating for me but that is a very small price to pay just as long i am healthy enough to fight nothing else really matters...

what about you?

You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!

It cuts quite a bit into my social life...I would actually train more if possible...I'm always getting in sh*t for doing too much - but unless you train in Martial Arts, I'm sorry you just don't understand! I LOVE it! It is however, important not to focus too much on one thing - you need balance in your life, such as hangin' with your friends and family. If you're training to go pro, well that's a different story.

I have plenty of time to socialise with my friends and hang out or play pool or snooker.I only train once a week in Karate but I also have a lot of school work.(pre GCSE)

Even in training twice a week I still have time to socialise. But my paperround cuts a big chunk out of my spare time.Takes me about 3 hours to do.Some nights it only takes me about an hour.

i DUNNO HOW I COPE! i train about 4 or five times a week, work 3 nites a wk, from bout 5 til 1am, go out A LOT(too much!), act down the theatre twice a week and got exams at school to study for. ive had to sacrifice my drama for my martial arts now and during exams i limit myself to go 2 or 3 times a wk, i find it helps get away from all the pressure and is a good break. :karate:

i solve the problem by looking at working and working out as social activities......... :bigwink:
