adamh Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 Hi all, I've been learning kick boxing for the past 6 months and so far I'm loving it. What i really want to know is though whether there are any better fighting techniques that would be better for me. I'm a pretty aggressive person by nature and I'm in no way scared of taking a few punches or getting hurt. I'd like to get into something whereby you learn by actual fighting, kick boxing is all well and good but i can only really seem to preform well when we spa and even then you don't know how well you would react in a real street fight. I know i'm fague just looking for a bit of a meaner technique and where i can get into actual competitions sooner. I can't end up with a * up face every week though as i run my own company! Adam. P.S first post on this forum so sorry if this has been answered before. Aggresion is the product of the idiots in the world
granmasterchen Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 have you looked at other schools in your area? take a look at some of the classes, stop by and talk to instructors but don't get baited into a mcdojo, PM when you find out some more info and I will try to help you out, That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
AndrewGreen Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Maybe a Mixed Martial Arts school. a submission grappling school, wrestling, or Judo. Grappling will let you compete full out without the facial damage. Going MMA you might be able to train with strikes/kickboxing but compete in just grappling if thats what you want.
