Icetuete Posted June 30, 2003 Posted June 30, 2003 dont know for sure why i dont like it - perhaps it is because it sounds like the tele-shopping channels that promis this specific hometrainer is better than every other and cheaper and makes u body perfect with only 5 minutes of training each day blah blah... which doesnt mean ur 1-2-3 programm is complete crap. i just like "regurlar" classes with instructors and stuff better.
crouton Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 i totally understand what you are talking about. the HIT program is really geared towards those that dont want to train for years or just dont have the time to put in but still want to be safe if ever in a confrontation. its basic, easy to learn, and very effective. dont get me wrong though i would never pass up regular classes for the HIT program, although this class is offered at the school. one on one instruction cant be beat. but if i had to learn self defense in a short amount of time i would go for the HIT program. MuayThai Fighter Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Pankration: It's meant to take out your opponent as quickly as possible.Go in hard and finish fast.Every move has another move for back up incase you fail with one technique. Pankration I'd say is the quickest because of its unequal techniques: Jabs Right cross Hooks Upper cuts Shin kicks Knee kicks Neck Wrestling Elbow strikes Flips Throws Arm bars Shoulder lock Knee bar Ankle locks Wrist locks Neck cranks Reversals Chokes: Triangle chokes Reverse Chokes etc.
Warp Spider Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Geez, talk about pimping the pankration program. Paladin - A holy beat down in the name of God!
tommarker Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 In the words of John Wayne: The Sky is blue The grass is green get off your butt.. and join the Marines. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Kirves Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 Hey MuayThaiFighter: your list of techniques is found in many arts besides Pancration.
Warp Spider Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 If you had investigated pankration you would have found that it is an amalgamation of the best, most street-effective techniques from various martial arts. Obviously those techniques could be found in other martial arts. Paladin - A holy beat down in the name of God!
JerryLove Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 Q: What's the fastest art to get you to SD compitence. MT: Pankration Q: Why? MT: Because it has a huge number of techniques with a huge number of variations. And as we all know, the more stuff there is to learn, the less time it will take you to learn it. trolling, trolling, trollin... https://www.clearsilat.com
