sansoouser Posted June 26, 2003 Posted June 26, 2003 What is the reason why you take martial arts? The amateur shoots his hands out ferociously, but lacks any true power. A master is not so flamboyant, but his touch is as heavy as a mountain.
Thuggish Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 first its fun... also, though, i like the fact that i can kick someones as-s. i dont have any intention of doing so, in fact id rather not, but if the sh!t hits the fan i can (hopefully) handle myself in a bad situation. growin up as a skinny guy, its nice to be bigger now and have the confidence of knowing if someone messes with you you can do somethign about it. a broken arm throws no punches
Prodigal Son Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 I started because I wanted to be a wicked fighter. I stopped because I thought I had become one. I started again because I met a teacher who's abilities blew me away. I continue because I love my art. I shall always continue because I shall never reach the bottom of the well. And if I get to be a wicked fighter ? Cool. Resoect to you all >>>PS<<< ------------------------------------------------------------------------Self-defense is only an illusion, a dark cloak beneath which lurks a razor-sharp dagger waiting to be plunged into the first unwary victim. Treebranch Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 It interests me and it's fun. I always was fascinated with Martial Arts. I was a big Kung Fu Theatre fan when I was a kid and I always loved Samurai films. stephen lee Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 self achievment. I truly enjoy learning to master myself. the color of a belt, can be a false sence of accomplishment.
focus102 Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 I started MA for the fun and for self defence. Now I am in it for the health benefits and the self discipline too. "Nothing is impossible to the willing mind."
Kamidake Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 Health; fun; self-defense; builds character. Not a bad deal for $45/month!
