monkeygirl Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 Well, regardless of how much it may hurt, it still puts you at risk for impotency and possibly cancer, so I wouldn't mess around with it if I were a guy. Ahhh it's times like these that I'm glad I'm NOT a guy 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
Radok Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 Yeah, just like girls getting punched in the boobs I guess. If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point. Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.
battousai16 Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 uh... actually, and i could be wrong cuz i don't have boobs, but from those i've talked to, getting hit in the boob is nothing like getting hit in the groin... but either way, i'd say getting hit in the groin hurts plenty for females too, and don't forget young monkey girl, i could be wrong , but i believe that females are at a higher risk for cancer all around, so don't feel to safe in your being a female "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai

HumanTyphoon Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Yeah, the uhhh..women's area is packed with nerves, that's why it hurts when getting hit there or especially when delivering babies. I feel a song coming up... It's true to wear a groin guard, whether male, female, super young, or super old, the only thing to protect against excruatiating pain is to wear a groin protecter. aefibird Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Heh heh, fun song... It's true, though. I'm female and have been kicked in the groin before - excruciating pain! It does hurt some women to be hit in the breats, but the groin is far far worse. So us girls can sympathise with you guys. So, wear that groin protector! "Was it really worth it? AngelaG Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 I've had a rising knee to the groin (not in karate though). I dropped to the floor and could not breath properlyy for about 10 minutes. I physically could not get back up, or even uncurl myself. That being said I don't wear a groin-guard. They are uncomfortable and unwieldy for females so I will take the risk. For a kick to have any real horrible affect it would have to be a rising kick as well, a straight on kick to the pubis would hurt but not in such a crippling manner. delta1 Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I don't wear a groin-guard. They are uncomfortable and unwieldy for females Same for us guys- maybe even moreso as we have more, shall we say, 'points of irritation' in that region. Also, since ours cups much more than yours, the contact/pressure points are not spread over a large area, but are sharply defined. For a kick to have any real horrible affect it would have to be a rising kick as well, a straight on kick to the pubis would hurt but not in such a crippling manner. True for everyone. There are only two horizontal targets on the front of an upright human body- the groin and the chin. To be effective, you have to use a vretical, riseing kick to a horizontal target. For vertical targets, the kick must thrust horizontally into the target. The exception for the male vs. female anatomy is a scoop kick, which would do more dammage to a male. As for how it feels to both sexes, I have been told by a doctor that it is pretty much the same for bot sexes. Men are obviously a little more exposed and susceptable to dammage. But they know that when it occurs, trauma to the genitals feels about the same because both male and female genetalia are innervated by the same nerve trunks. (So guys, if you want to know how it feels to have a baby, you can get a rough idea by immagining your organs being slowly squeezed and torn while some idiot looks calmnly into your face and says "Breath!" ) What I can't answer is why they have more than one. Sort of like Iron Crotch Gung-fu. Who wants to do that? Freedom isn't free!

Yes I agreeAngelaG.A kick to the pubic bone will hurt. But A kick up into my vulva is just devastating to :It can still hurt bad with protection, But AngelaG You should still wear groin protection!!I have seen and heard too many horror stories from other women Edited October 22, 2004 by x-women
