tommarker Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 try a search for "Sai kata" in a search engine like Google and you should find lots of online diagrams and even a couple of video clips. I also bought a book with many sai basics and kata which I actually found in Borders! Look in your local bookshop/library or even try amazon for books on kobudo. not to call you a liar but... i couldn't find squat for sai kata online... where are the lots of things you found? I'm no longer posting here. Adios.

major_motoko Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 There is a video clip of a sai kata here if you scroll down a little: http://www.uechi-ryu.com/videos/tc_videos.html The picture's a little fuzzy but you can still get the idea. motoko 2nd Kyu Brown Belt, Wado Ryu Karate-do"Daniel-san best karate still inside!" tommarker Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 keep in mind that when you visit a person's site who hosts videos for free that they are probably paying a lot of money to do so. if you visit a site, pull the video out of your cache so you can view it repeatedly instead of reloading it from their site. The reason I bring this up is because one of my favorite sites for watching isshin-ryu kata went down for this reason. Good news: Kusanku Sai (about 15MB, MPEG) http://www.msoiaurora.org/kusanku_sai Sai Chatanyara No Sai (the only official sai kata I have learned) http://home.planet.nl/~poel0383/ChatanyaranoSai.html I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Solo Posted July 8, 2003 Author Posted July 8, 2003 Pull the video out of your cache so you can view it repeatedly...Not to sound dumb (unfortunatly I will heh)...Pull it out of your cache? How do you do that? Btw, thanks for the katas guys "Freedom discovers man the moment he loses concern over what impression he is making or about to make."-Bruce Lee
tommarker Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 solo... if you are using Internet Explorer, look for a directory on your computer called "temporary internet files" and there will be a couple different folders in there. browse around in them (i like to view file details, and then organize them by file size. it's easy to spot a 15 mb file in your cache, because it is huge.) then drag it out of the cache folder, and onto your desktop, or whereever you like to store that stuff. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
DownwardSpyral Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the cache? The cache saves recently downloaded and played files, and loads them from the hard disk instead of re-downloading it.
tommarker Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 point taken.. but it is a good idea to make copies of stuff you like, especially since the good stuff comes and goes. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
