Taku-Shimazu Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 (edited) I would just like to say Russian MA? Russian? No! What I meant was (No offence) Asia understand MA. I do not mean that all non Asian MA are rubbish except that they are not using MA to its potential. Edited March 1, 2005 by Taku-Shimazu The cool summer breeze passes me by.
daeinwolf Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 I would just like to say Russian MA? Russian? No! ---I really hope that you are not implying that the Russians do not have martial arts. If I am mistaken, please elucidate on your point. SiK---Joshua There are no limits.

kzshin Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 baji chuan is a very hard chinese style. It was widely used by Royal Guard during Chin Dynasty (the last dynasty). One of it's emphasis is to protect others, which is unique than other art. Some of moves were actually sacrafice self to protect other. It's a very "body gurad" style.
mai tai Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 i was an army ranger. when i was in they taught a watered down hand to hand. but most of are training was with weapons. on a modern battlefeild your the low on the totem pole if you have a rifle. hand to hand...it just isnt that important. now they train a watered down bjj. but not while i was in. ther were some good fighters in the rangers SF and dreaded D when i worked with them. but it was cause they were hobbyist in various MAs
baronbvp Posted March 26, 2005 Posted March 26, 2005 Does it matter if it is technically a martial art if you are dead? I don't think so. Applied martial arts for life or death situations is the same as applied math for building real bridges -- what matters is whether it works. Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.Martial arts are like kinetic chess. Your move.
