I train in judo because of the thrill, fighting " playing " as we call it wrestling grappling, throwing all in good fun. No one gets hurt if they learn to fall and I do it for fitness sport and I guess self defense. But it doesn't have much of a spiritual side to it. I train because it's fun and I love being thrown through the air, no greater feeling. :P awwww

After all it's the closest i get to flying when my sensie launches me across the room...

Be as a tranquil pool of water in the woods. Calm, collected, reflecting on its surface all that is around it. Make your own mind such a quiet mirror reflecting the mind of the opponent. Even as your partner's impulse to attack passes through his mind it should be reflected in you.

I train for physical fitness, self confidence, focus skills and just because I find it very interesting.

Well, when I wrote the poll, I sort of grouped that into the "fun" category. I didn't mean "fun" as in having a picnic, I meant "fun" as in "making the mind and psyche satisfied" as opposed to the physical objectives in the other options.

I think if there was an answer saying "other" it would be the most popular!

Yeah. Judging on the recent attempts I've made at starting polls, I am not that good at making them. In this poll people thought there should have been a specific "history" option and "love for martial arts" option and "career" option and "spiritual side" option and "thrill of fighting" option and so on. I thought that people would lump all that under the generic term of "fun and fitness", but I was mistaken. On the other poll, seems that instead of answering the poll, some people start saying that the poll guestion is "wrong" because they study the ultimate martial art that can be learned as fast as any other art on the planet and it can beat any other art on the planet as other arts are incomplete but theirs is not. And of course, everyone should stop what they're doing and go to do what they do... Geeh, I think it is not healthy to sit for an hour arguing on the same topic - I feel myself getting ranty! :D

I'll probably leave it at rest now and hope these polls are buried deep in the history pages of this forum.

I dunno, I thought your #4 option hit the nail on the head for me. I like to see polls like this, the results are interesting. So what if you didn't make it perfect, you can't please all the people all of the time. Thx for the poll.
