ok, a literal traslation of san soo/sau is "loose techniques"

what that means is that you learn a lot of small separate moves, much like how you do in kickboxing as you go on practising these moves and combinations instead of the more traditional forms.

so if you really want to work "flashy" kicks into your repertoire, you can.

just keep practising!

it incorparates " flashy " kicks if you want to do them, atleast in my dojo.

The amateur shoots his hands out ferociously, but lacks any true power. A master is not so flamboyant, but his touch is as heavy as a mountain.

then it does depend on what you call flashy.

i personally love watching my sifu just shifting slightly on the spot and changing arm/hand position to neutralise a threat then just walk forward.

the simple, clean, unfussed, presise movements are just so impressive. all this with a smile too.

then again i also appreciate the cool moves they use in films and i do harbour a secret desire to be able to do them...

from the ground up are you studying Wing Chun? The way you described your teachers movements sounds alot like what we do in Budo Taijutsu.

Does Kung Fu San Soo teach high flashy kicks?

Not that I have seen. I studied it for a while and we never kicked higher than the sternum. San Soo is a very practical MA. :)
