fireka Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 okay video game fans. lets talk fighting games. suprisingly enough, despite RPG's renound tendincy to attract the intellegent and character influenced players, fighting games tend to stir up more intense discussion on plot. most people who play fighting games have three things they put into there favorites list. first, of course, is there favorite game series. second being one game from that series that they like the best and the third being that one special character who, we dont always enjoy playing just because of there fighting skill, or there special moves, but because of the characters attitudes and personalities as well. what is all of yours? My favorite series is definitly STREET FIGHTER. I love it because ive kinda always wished the real world worked like the street Fighter world, were everyone rushes home to see the martial arts tournaments, there the highlight of the day, and professional fighters come from diverse backgrounds and style sto live a life of world travel and intrigue as they go from adventure to adventure. Im totaly stuck on Street Fighter alpha 3, its just cool. and my favorite character, definitly sakura. Ive always thought it was pretty cool, for some reason when small women defeat large guys (like say, sakura versus Zangief) it just goes to show what real skill can do against any dilema. i also just love her attitude toward fighting, she beats the crap out of random people and maintains perfect innocence! granmasterchen Posted June 25, 2003 Posted June 25, 2003 i like the DBZ games...especially the one that is in english now......sorry i am a dork.......i just think it is fun That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
fireka Posted June 25, 2003 Author Posted June 25, 2003 no your not! do you mean ultimate battle 22? wos your character on it? "i could dance like that!.......if i felt like it...." -Master Betty
granmasterchen Posted June 25, 2003 Posted June 25, 2003 budokai, it is the only one that i know of that is in english, i like vegeta, b/c of his attitude, but i also play as hercules satan just b/c he is a typical human and i like to beat people up with a normal human with no super powers hehehe That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
Blade Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 Street fighter and marvel vs. capcom are my favs. SF2 was my first fighting game and the series will always be one of my favs. I like all the on screen action in the marvel vs. capcom games. I also like mk1, 2, and deadly alliance, mainly because they had some interesting characters(scorpion, baraka, cyrax).
fireka Posted June 27, 2003 Author Posted June 27, 2003 i have marvel vs. capcom for dreamcast, its pretty fun, i like trying to make matches that seem like good cross overs (i.e. Zangief vs. Hulk, Wolverine vs. strider ect.) i dont like MK though, the characters are to god like and they dont seem to have enough personality of there own, which is excatly the reason i love street fighter, i am a writer, so i like solid motives for fighting. Blade Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 The only god-like mk fighter is raiden, and that's because he is a god. And each character has a reason for being there.
fireka Posted June 27, 2003 Author Posted June 27, 2003 you may be right, it might just be me, but from what i saw of the game and the movie for sure, it seemed few of the characters showed any signs of being at all human. they had no compassion, no will other than kill, kill, kill, kill. but then again, i probably shouldnt be so quick to judge, i love street fighter and i have never seen a worse movie in my life. Martial_Artist Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 Tekken 2. I had a record of 703 wins and 14 losses against anyone who wanted to play. Lei Wu Long baby! It was a fun, innovative game. I had to bite. MA. "I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination.Imagination is more important than knowledge.Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." Einstein
fireka Posted June 27, 2003 Author Posted June 27, 2003 ive been considering purchasing a tekken game for my PSone. just out of curiosity if your really familiar with the plot....whats up with the guys that have chetta heads and stuff! and i rember playing with a friend and unlocking a panda bear....i mean dude...come on....can it get any cooler! You know though if there gonna let animals fight like there professionals they need kangaroos since there the only bipedal animals i know of that fight professionaly against human fighters.
