A small stick, usually pointed on both ends, designed do fit neatly into the fist. I forgot who's key ring on their kubotan was too heavy for the ignition but that one must be great for a flailing attack lilke the one done by a nunchaku. I have seen pictures of wicked looking hairpins used in the hair styles of the Japanese samuri era that where also used as weapons. It has been a very long time since I have seen a hairpin in actual use. Hair being so much shorter now and all. And then too, we don't wear the kind of hats that require them.
