sansoouser Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 What are San Soo's strong and weak points? What are some similarities between san soo and wing chun or shaolin and differences? The amateur shoots his hands out ferociously, but lacks any true power. A master is not so flamboyant, but his touch is as heavy as a mountain.
Treebranch Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 San Soo's weak points are it's too brutal. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
River Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 (edited) I don't think Sanshou is brutal, compare with San shou ,there are a lot of Kungfus are really brutal in China. Edited July 21, 2003 by River
Treebranch Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 I agree River, I was speaking of SAN SOO not San Shou. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
River Posted June 25, 2003 Posted June 25, 2003 Treebranch, thank you. What is San Soo?Isn't it Chinese San shou?
Treebranch Posted June 25, 2003 Posted June 25, 2003 River San Soo is basically Chinese Combat Fighting. It was founded by Master Jimmy Wu and I studied under on of his former students who was 9th degree BB. San Shou is the style Cung Le fights in. Both are really good Styles, San Soo is more focused on streetfighting, it can be very brutal. Prodigal Son Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 San Soo's weak points are it's too brutal.that's a weak point ? >>>PS<<< ------------------------------------------------------------------------Self-defense is only an illusion, a dark cloak beneath which lurks a razor-sharp dagger waiting to be plunged into the first unwary victim. Sifu Wong.
River Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 There are a great many kinds of martial arts which are brutal in fighting.I understand what you said,Treebranch.I also know what Sansoo is at the moment, but I have never heard of Jimmy you talked about in your article,is he a Chinese?
aznkarateboi Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 I don't think it has any weak points. Lack of ground fighting maybe?
