I bet Gene Labell would have beat any bjj when he was in his fighting days.

Then he would have accepted the public challenge to him extended by the gracie family.

I do not think that there are facts that bjj is the best on the ground.

and there isint a "Fact" that boxers are the best punchers.

And what if you were a bjj and came across 3 brutes like kimo ( ufc 3 ) I think you better run I would

what does that have to do with anything it wouldent matter what stlye you practiced if you came across 3 kimos.

but what about the great martial artist who do not believe in competition

yea and I could beat Michael Jordan in a basketball game..i just choose never to compete. You notice the rue greates Such as Mas Oyama and Helio Gracie are the ones that goes out and do it instead of talking about it.

Find me a factual statement with the data to back up that 99% of bjj beat karate

Find me 1 shotokan karateka winning a single major moxed event in the last 5 years..you wont. 99% is figure of speach.

geez, its even worse than you made it out to be TJS. i just got a blackbelt magazine, and theres a full page advertisment for gracie's stuff. i swear they are like a cm away from declaring themselves gods. they really are full of themselves arnt they? will, Renzo dosent look so scary to me. I bet you Master Shimabuku could have moped the floor with him. i dont have any disrespect for BJJ, but i dont like these guys. they are basically trying to replace the term BJJ with Gracie style, its sickining! Im going to defeat them but im early into my carrear...geez i dont want to have to lesson to this for ten years! cant anybody shut these guys up!

fireka,

Gracie JJ came before Brazillian JJ

Carlson Gracie Sr founded BJJ, But only members of the Gracie family and affiliates can use the Gracie name.

There have been a few legal battles over it, but not being a BJJ practitioner I haven't paid much attention.

Most of the Gracie's do have a loss to their name, Royler just tapped out to Eddie Bravo (who is a BJJ stylist)

Sakuraba has beaten 4 of them.

Yoshida beat Royce... Whether he should have or not is questionable, the ref made a bad call.

There are more losses then that.

But there is a common theme, all those guys have an extensive grappling background.

Look around, the same sort of superiority issues exist in Isshin ryu, you just demonstrated that claiming you are sure Shimabuku would beat them. What top level fighter did Shimabuku ever beat? So how can you make a claim like that?

Every style claims it is the best. The Gracie's are one of the few groups that will step up and defend that claim. They are responsible for bringing the importance of ground work into focus.

Despite being poor loosers at times and a little arrogant at other times, they have earned a lot of respect.

they havent earned any with me. shimabuku wasnt given the chance to fight in the big tournamnets, he was to bust making a diffrence in the martial arts community to do something that would boost his own name. i would say some things that would show my own styles superiority to, but it would make some other styles try and reign down on me, in paticular shotokan. which i dont want to do, i seemed to have gained favor among the shotokan practioners here and i dont plan on destroying that alliance. But the fact is there is grappling in karate, were the heck did this whole striking art thing come in? its just untrue.
