Drunken Monkey Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 have many of you guys seen the older chinese martial arts films? y'know, snake in eagles shadow, five venoms and stuff like that? just wondering, what do you think of them using the old chinese forms as practised in the films for their fights scenes? or do you really prefere the highly choreographed "modern" use of moves that look good but have no real grounding? keep on talking post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
Karateka_latino Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 I have a small collection of both Old pre-80's and New mid 80's until now, Martial arts films. The very old films use Real Kung fu techniques but the coreography was tooooo slow.. The new ones are faster but i don't like the over use of Wires. I liked the late 70's early 80's films, just when the Kung Fu movies Era was dying.. the Moves were FAST and furious and they still used real Kung fu.
Martial Law Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 i like the old wong fei hung movies Be like the water - Bruce Lee

Tibby Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 Yeah, I like those. WOrking a Blockbuster, I got most of them for free, crazy movies, fun to watch, and fun to dub Anyone watch Kung Fuax? That is a crazy show! Those old 70's Movies, dubed over in Hip-hop fashion. Instead of hearing: "You are not ready to fight him yet, my son, I shall teach you the way of the fist." You hear: "Damn, bro, you must trippin? You ain't got da * to handle that foo! Hang with me, I'll get you some game, dog!" It is the greatest!
