BKJ1216 Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 Well my dojo also offeres a Kid Aikido class. This is pretty intresting to me. I want to take it some time later one when I can manage my time more correctly and all. I was wondering though. Is this is a good combination? White Belt- Shudokan Karate
Kensai Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 Kid Aikido? Or Ki? IMHO I think most Karate and Aikido principles are so different they wont gel. I was thinking of doing Wado ryu, but like I said, just too different. Although perhaps Yoshinkan Aikido might work better with Karate.

Kids don't have preconceived ideas about anything so I think they will do fine studying both Karate and Aikido together. I think both styles will compliment eachother quite well, I think that will cancel out some of the weaknesses those styles have. Is this is a good combination? i think if it interests you then do it when you have the time ofcourse to do both, therefore cross training. great combination.
