This isn't martial arts related, other than you never know what kind of weapon you might be attacked with, and on an avoidance level, why it is best not to feud with your neighbours.... :o

Neighbour to appear in court

HENRY STANCU

STAFF REPORTER

A single mother of five had her hands hacked off in a machete attack at her Scarborough home yesterday.

As the 44-year-old underwent surgery to reattach her hands, severed at the wrists, police charged her 38-year-old neighbour, also a single mother of five, in the attack.

Oh that's nasty...what on earth could possess someone to cut off somebody else's hands? Too bad the article didn't have more details on that...

um, just want to point out.

if that's from the star newspaper in uk, you should be aware that it is probably the trashiest paper on the market...

No, it is the Toronto Star (Canada), a mainstream newspaper.

Well according to the TV news ("The New Vr"), the attacker accused the victim of calling the Children's Aid Society; four of the accused's children were taken away moments earlier.

Well then I guess I can understand why he did it then. Taking away someones children is about the worst thing you can do.

Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not saying it was the right thing to do.

Both the attacker and victim were single Moms that lived next to each other. Judging by the attacker's "solution" to having the CAS remove her children, it sounds like a good idea they were taken in the first place; she sounds unstable to say the least.
