shotokanwarrior Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 I agree that wc is not a style but a method. If you are attacked its up to you what you are going to do and everyones reaction will be different. It does not take long to learn wc but takes years to master it so I feel that bruce learned it and did not master it, that is why he was not satisfied with it. JKD has more tools to use and no sets or katas to learn so the learning curve is shorter. Both arts has something to offer but i do believe that when im 60 my wc will be better than it is now and im not sure if i will be able to do the jkd stuff when im an old man. Its personal choice Where Art ends, nature begins.
sano Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 bruce lee did not invent jkd but he made the concept popular. falcon kick!!!
Drunken Monkey Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 someone else do it this time... post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
shotokanwarrior Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Do what this time? Where Art ends, nature begins.
Mole78 Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 "If people say Jeet Kune Do is different from "this" or from "that" then let the name of Jeet Kune Do be wiped out, for that is what it is, just a name. Please don't fuss over it." -Tao of Jeet Kune Do Prehaps the intention in creating JKD was simply to communicate Bruce Lees ideas and not to try and create a new art - Just a thought. Keep an open mind
