tommarker Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 I know a few people who have restrung them with leather cord with great result. Other people I know have meticulously wrapped silk cord around the handles. I just used cloth tape I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
DownwardSpyral Posted June 12, 2003 Posted June 12, 2003 Are there any modern books that I can purchase which have Sai information in them? I've been searching for Sakagami's Nunchaku and Sai for awhile, and since it was printed nearly more than 2 decades ago, it's impossible to find in modern bookstores.
tommarker Posted June 12, 2003 Posted June 12, 2003 Best bet is abebooks.com or ebay. There are usually three or four online, and you can get them for about $20.00 or so. That's how I got mine. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
fireka Posted June 12, 2003 Author Posted June 12, 2003 i really hope my sais dont come apart, they look really cool, even though technically i havent seen them yet.... but they have that little golden spiral going down the handle, i love the look! maybe if they do fall off i can still recreat the effect, after all ive made plenty of wooden weapons i suppose leather crafting wouldnt be much more difficult a skill to learn. Sorry to tell you, but that's the stuff that rotted and fell apart on mine It'll last for a fair amount of time. By then, you'll want to rip it all off and replace it with leather or something cool! DownwardSpyral Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 Ugh. I knew Sai training would be tough, but you mean I have to dig out and dust off my old VHS player? You ask the impossible!
