How do you think a wing chun stylist would fair against a tkd or karate stylist.

I know people will say it depends on the martial artist, but I mean the styles themselves.

I think if the WC guy waz good, he'd prolly wipe the floor wif the tkd guy. But i dunno bout the karateka, i've seen a karate vs. WC fight b4 and the karate guy demolished the WC guy but i suppose that waz juss one fight

I think Karate is more based on power than wing chun. Knockdown fighters, full contact fighters, or heavy contact fighters from Karate would probably win because they know how to use it's power well. But from TKD, the lower kicks in wing chun would be faster than the high kicks from TKD, and more direct and not so flashy, so TKD would lose.

If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point.

Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.

This is a funny thread i love everyones answer.

First you can't match styles!

Styles don't fight each other!

Second you said karate there are so many different styles of karate. Not all karate use the same tneories.

There are so many factors that goes into this than just what styles were used.

With all that being said i'd take Wing Chun :P

In open tournaments, styles do fight against each other, and compete in other areas against each other, but the results aren't really conclusive that style A is better than style B - the most it shows is that the stylists from school A might be more tournament oriented than the stylists from school B.

karate_woman,

You missed my point.

I was saying that Wing Chun can't fight against Karate or any other style for that matter.A Wing Chun stylist can fight against a Karate stylist. My whole post was actually a joke because there is noway to know which stylist would win.

Like i said.

I actually thought I agreed with you, but perhaps I did it in a confusing way :D

I think a Hair Stylist would win, because no one wants bad hair when they're fighting.
