Hey Davison, where are you at in GBurg... and which studio(s) do you attend?

 

I am originally from the Burg and studied with KJN Zefo at the Knoxville KSW studio

not to totally hijack this thread - but are any of you KSW practitioners going to be at the champaign seminar this thursday? I was really surprised to see how many people have already flown in.

i study under james thompson.ive studied for about 12 yrs now.i have lived in g burg all my life.i know zefo.my father is a good friend of his,their both sheriff deputys .how old are you swooshfinn?we probly know eachother!

4 nights a week for most of that year and a half.... then there were extra Saturday morning classes for the Knox College kids when their schedules permitted.... I had nothing better to do at the time..... so why not put that much time into training?

do you spar full contact like in judo? in aikido that is

Be as a tranquil pool of water in the woods. Calm, collected, reflecting on its surface all that is around it. Make your own mind such a quiet mirror reflecting the mind of the opponent. Even as your partner's impulse to attack passes through his mind it should be reflected in you.

Most schools try and play it safe, esspecially with the lower ranks. Some, like mine, will allow the upper belts to use full contact, and more importantly, full arsenal (i.e. all the strikes and techniques we have learned).
