Sho-ju Posted May 28, 2003 Posted May 28, 2003 Does anyone here make their own weapons? I have a buddy that makes mine for me. Nothing fancy, just heavy hard wood. He's made me arnis sticks, tongfa, jo and bo. He's working up to making a pair of kama. Anyone have tips on weapon making? Sho-ju

brando-san Posted May 28, 2003 Posted May 28, 2003 if you wanna make a shuriken very quickly, get a simple CD and get a knife sharpener and sharpen the sides till you can cut the thanksgiving turkey with it. If you have mad frisbee skills, you should be able to use your new weapon successfully http://www.yen2you.tk <-- simply the best
Athorn4941 Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 Alot of patients and attempts to make a weapon the way you want to. With wooden weapons try to pick wood that runs parralel to the length of the weapon to add strength to the stick. If your making a kama try to have the tang to a decent ways into the handle. Make sure you also temper the metal that the blade is made of. If you temper it to hard the metal can shatter when struck against something. Best peace of advice safety first.
