brando-san
What I mean by the subject is: When you are in a fight, do you do any specific first move or aim for a specific area in all your fights? I know the outcome of all fights are un-predictable, but what do you try most? I personaly start out in some Ninjitsu. I go for a knife-edge strike to the nose or adam's apple. If my oponent grabs my wrist in an attempt to counter-attack, I use some fancy Aikido to throw him to the ground in a joint lock. When The fight gets on the ground I use some of my Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu knowledge to grapple. If the fight gets back up to standing, I bust out some Jeet Kune Do and Ninjitsu mixed. I am probably sounding like a fool right now but whatever, what do you guys do? http://www.yen2you.tk <-- simply the best

wrestlingkaratechamp
First of all whats with the icon......And my strategy is to go on the ground because I am mad good at fighting on the ground and my other strategy is simple: "to hurt the other guy before he hurts me". brando-san
heheh, my icon, well... It is some random Japanese guy that I thought looked funny/cool. So now he is famous all over the United States. Any other people wish to comment their strategy? http://www.yen2you.tk <-- simply the best
madfrank
Hi, Hit em first, hit em hard and keep hitting them till they are no longer a threat. Head shots are best. No offence Brando-san but you don't sound like you've been in a real fight to me. take care MF Be good people
karate_woman
Strategy: avoidance, awareness, prevention. Once fight is inevitable, try to avoid being hit, use persuaders (screams, foot/shin stomp, elbows, claw-like strike to eyes/nose, groin, etc) before techniques, try to ensure attacker can't chase me because they either can't see me (thus the eye/nose strike), or can't physically chase me (knee broken), constantly adapting to the attack, not expecting any so-called obvious responses from them; don't stop until I am able to get away safely. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. -Lao-Tse
madfrank
Hi Also unless you have experience of fights you won't know how you will respond. Most MA's haven't had a fight so everything they say is theory. I have seen many Black Belts get battered it is very sad. What you do in the dojo is a million times harder to do on the street. Also you have to take into account what the other guy knows. Has he had more street fights thatn you is he better at MA's than you. Saying in a fight I would do XY and Z is ok but have you done it b4. The adrenal response will take away 90% of your leanred techniques especially kicks locks etc. If you are planning on doing certain techniques in a real fight thay should be the ones you practice, to the exclusion of all others. WhiteBelt
My strategy is to stay alive. I try to avoid fights altogether on the street; it just isn't worth it. How I go about surviving a fight should it start is all a product of my training. Whatever I've practiced recently, or remember quickly.
iolair
Strategy: avoidance, awareness, prevention. Once fight is inevitable, try to avoid being hitSounds good... I start off the same way. In a fight situation, I'll go into boxing stance and start off with more-or-less traditional western boxing, looking for an opening to surprise them with a decisive kick, throw or lock. Against multiple opponents, I'll generally avoid grappling. Currently: Kickboxing and variants.Previously: Karate (Seido, Shotokan, Seidokan), Ju Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Fencing. granmasterchen
all fights are different and it all depends on your attacker on what strategy i use, if i know that the guy poses no threat at all i will play with him, yet if there are many, with weapons or they appear dangerous then go with the simple techniques, flashy will get you killed, hit hard and fast and don't stop until they are done. Strikes to the face, throat, neck, groin, knees, and other weak spots are key for winning quickly. That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
