theswarm Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 mine is two open hands one in line with my face, the other in line with my solar plexus - palms facing opponent, works good to block surface area and i usually have it long enough to only have to deflect slightly and counterstrike i've come across so many different guards though in sparring
JerryLove Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 Varies, one example. Both hands forward, up, and out; like if you made a big "V" above your head with your arms and then tilted it forward about 60 degrees. Legs together. https://www.clearsilat.com
granmasterchen Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 It is nice to keep the hands up one out infront of you with fist below eye level so you can see , this arm is for blocks and backfists, the other hand can be held to the side as a ready hand or up higher like the first yet not out in front so that i can get momentum off of it, sometimes i will do open hand or close hand depending on how i feel, sometimes if i feel really confident with my speed i will place my arms down to the sides of my legs in a relaxed position, but i usually keep my legs out at shoulder width with kneww slightly bent.
