karate_woman
Back to the original question, my conclusion would be either that the rules favoured the one style, and/or that the practitioners who competed for the style were more prepared for that particular type of contest. WhiteBelt
My conclusion would be that it's not scientific enough to come to a conclusion. You'd need random practitioners from a comparable rank, if you can even make that comparison. For you to decide something like this you need to keep some variables constant... mArTiAl_GiRl
Well.... I wouldn't say what it exactly could be and nor would I say, that someone is better or worse. There can be many reasons: 1. Maybe some of the competitors were tired that day, had a bad day or something else which has to do with health. 2. Maybe the instructor hasn't taught them some good techniques. 3. Or maybe, there was a more experienced fighter and maybe the opponent didn't know so much. 4. Maybe, it really is, that some martial arts have techniques, which are better or more useful in fighting. 5. Anyway, it depends on the fighter, the instructor's training method, the martial art the figther practise, and if the fighter WANTS to win and train hard.
