Chris,

Do better than your best, best will win, but better will defeat!! hee hee hee.

You can always do more than you think you are capable of!!! trust me i know, it takes alot of guts to enter a competition, and myself, I have lost the confidence, and am no longer entering a competition again. good luck to you. Hope you defeat all and overcome your apponents. stay focused. keep your guard. and tell us who you have defeated

Love lots

Angela, i was wondering why you have lost confidence at competitions.

I'll let you all know the results on Sunday.

Chris,

I have lost confidence in myself because I lost a competition completely. I anounced my kata, did the first three moves, and completely messed up, I forgot what i was doing, I was going into bassai dai or something, And i was doing Heian Shodan!! I got rather upset and decided not to enter anymore, at all, My friends are trying to get me to enter one in november though, but i said no, no more.

look forward to hearing about your winnings

love lots

I was refereeing (sp?) that match and I saw exactly what happened.

You announced Heian Shodan, but when it came to the Otoshi Tessui Uchi (over-the-top strike), well, u forgot to do it.

The reason you totally messed up is because you decided to stop there and give up, which automatically got you disqualified. If ud have continued you would have scored OK.

I was in the same mind as you about 1 year ago. I was in the kata catagory, and I performed Bassai-dai to the best of my ability (my mum recorded it so I know how I looked). I didn't get anywhere. The judges prefered the shorter snappier styles of kata, compared to my deep, powerful Shotokan kata.

I vowed never to enter competitions again. Last week I overcame this thought and entered in the weapons kata. I won

I've also seen many people ****-up at national competition, so it happens to everyone.

So to conclude....You'll always have hicups during your karate training. I just say keep trying and you'll get there.

Oh yeah - get Carey to teach you and your brother how to walk on properly. Thats another thing that let you down. It just makes me so mad :kaioken:

C ya

SORRY! I didnt know i had to change how i walk just 4 a comp!!

I couldnt have continued, not how i felt, I knew i fcuked up(the spelling of that is okay-fcuk) and i couldnt continue, not at all.

at least you got through your kata, you got up again last week and you beat w aworld champ tobias, I'm not as good as that, and i cant give everything ive got to get a certain walk or perfect my katas, thats the thing about me, I dont fight and i cant do kata right, some i can almost do, some i know but have to keep checking, like tekki, but i only know some of godan and NONE of yondan, Im getting them mixed up and i lose what im doing!!!

I'm not entering anymore because im not ready and i dont think i could face another loss at the moment, not with the way thingz are going. Maybe in a few years wen ive sorted things out ill get better at kata and MAYBE start fighting, But with the way i performed, not for a few years.

refereeing -yeah u spelled it right

Tobias, Your bassai dai is really good, dont let anybody put you down just because its not as fast a s a bus or something, if you think its perfect then it is perfect!

I know you won, i was there watching you, I knew youd won before they anounced it, it was obvious, your excellent at kobudo, to me u r.

Ill see you soon okay.

Love lots
