karate_woman Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 I don't really find myself with a strange attraction to transformers or power-relay-stations. Lots of energy there. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. -Lao-Tse
fireka Posted May 27, 2003 Author Posted May 27, 2003 congradulations on making karateforums green belt karate_woman! enrgy huh/ you know ive been thinking, and maybe this is my lack of knoladge about chi. but what the heck dose it actually do? i mean, lets think of it for just a second as an organ, just like kidney or lung or anything else. i seriously doubt its primary function is an aid to self defense, or to heal, is it a sorce of energy? maybe, but then again we have other body parts that do that. and whats really the diffrence between adreniline and chi, i see a big coralation between the two actually. i have another opinion about this whole 'ki is the force of attraction' bussiness ive just created, but i will not express it just yet, it seem i need to think over the idea a bit more as it presents chi as even more important a force than i had previously suspected. and thats saying a lot. JerryLove Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 Adreneline is a chemical released by the adrenaial gland in the brain. It causes musculature contraction, constricts blood flow, increases heart rate and resperation, raises blood-presure, and opens airways. It also triggers the release of several other chemicals (such as endorphins), and is good for dealing with hystamine reactions. Do I really need to point out that this is not a description of "chi"? https://www.clearsilat.com
fireka Posted May 27, 2003 Author Posted May 27, 2003 yes. because through all the randomly placed theroies and supposed vast (or should i say Vague) knoladged sages on what chi is ive gotten confused and see few diffrences. give me clear deffinition of chi from your perspective so i can use it to base my test on and perhaps ill just decide to agree as fighting theroies is actually getting tiring and seemingly pointless. JerryLove Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 I don't have a good theory on the underlying mechanice of chi. What I do know is that it has quite different charicteristics than adreneline (which I do understand the underlying mechanics of). The simple fact that I can perform qigong interactions without contact would remove it from anything else I can think of the human body manipulating. https://www.clearsilat.com
fireka Posted May 28, 2003 Author Posted May 28, 2003 yes, will according to some you can also arange furnature with it in order to bring about good fortune. hum, we tried that, my dad got laid off for the first time ever one week latter. that dosent mean i do belive in the powers or prowess of chi in the right hands, simply that we should not belive all that can be read. if you are a taoist than surely you have done something to force these abilities forward, i doubt you were born with the ability to heal. so then there must be something of accuracy for me to base this on. JerryLove Posted May 28, 2003 Posted May 28, 2003 I understand that you have not done what I have, and as such are rightly taking my comment with a grain of salt. On the other hand, I am quite certain of what I have done, and will base all my opinions accordingly. For me, I'm not dicussing things I've heard, or might have felt, but things I have experimented with and tested. https://www.clearsilat.com
fireka Posted May 28, 2003 Author Posted May 28, 2003 bravo jerry, i wish i could be so fortunate. but until such a time comes, if it ever dose at all, i will be forced to base everything on hear say and hope for the best. i can not travel to south china to study, i wish i could, but i cant. there are few that have the options and oppritunities you have had. im simply curious how you accumalated these skills, i do not doubt you, but say again, you were not born with them. JerryLove Posted May 28, 2003 Posted May 28, 2003 The big event for me that gave me skills I could acutally test for was a Qigon healing workshop that my school puts on yearly. I finally went to one. https://www.clearsilat.com
