martialartist1 Posted May 14, 2003 Posted May 14, 2003 "I'm fifteen, and female Do you think there is a "right" or "appropriate" age to start Muay Thai? My parents think it is preposterous." well, in my opinion you can start whenever you have time to. starting in the teens is a good age because you know your availablity and purposes of training. just makesure on the safety rules and issues for the club you train and wheter you agree with them or not. remember muay thai is a dangerous sport if your not prepared or aware of the bad consequences, espcially if your female. females are usually weak and more vunerable so if its your first martial art style then i suggest you do some research before you start. are you a brave, strong person? its cos you need to be espcially for muay thai standards or otherwise you may be picked on by people who have no respect. i suggest you start kickboxercise as this style many women agree on, you can exercise to music to, but the choice is yours.
martialartist1 Posted May 14, 2003 Posted May 14, 2003 yeh, i see you have had past experience, you can start training muay thai anytime you like, but be aware of its heavy contact rules. safety comes first you fellow martial artist.
