fireka
on like, the second night i went to my dojo, i saw a green belt doing knife deffense. but check this; he was being taught to use the obi to deflect the weapon and stuff. this looked really cool, sort of reminded me of the rope javalin. anyways, do any of you guys learn this? what kind of stuff can you do with a obi? can it be used just to deflect, or can you do chokes, hand locks (these two looked obvious) with them. what about the robe javalin i mentioned, could you use it as a kind of wiping weapon? to actually strike the opponet? karatekid1975
I donno if my school learns it, but I know Hapkido and a few other arts do. That would be sweet to learn something like that. Dang! My next art WILL be Hapkido! Laurie F

SaiFightsMS
And remember any defense you learn with your obi practice doing with the belt you normally wear with your everyday pants.
