I know this may sound really stupid but please help me as best as u can.

When i do kumeti(fight or sparr) at my karate club, i get out of breath really easy. About 3 minutes of fighting and im breathing heavy and im weak.

Are there any methods of improving that?

One must be like all changes of state.

Solid - Tough and strong!

Liquid - Relaxed and make your techniques flow!

Gas - Fast!

Start jogging, but break it up into 10 minute blocks. Say you decide to go out for half an hour, for each 10 minute block you run for, say, 2 minutes and walk the other 8. If you keep working at it like this, you'll eventually be able to work it up to running the entire time.

Skipping helps as well. Fast, serious skipping, will improve your cardio real fast.

start training for endurance. running miles will help. also kick the bag for like 1:30 as hard and as fast as you can with out stopping. stay light on your feet and just keep working on endurance.

Since I started running, I have not had a problem being out of breath. Try some endurance training like jogging, swimming, and/or biking. It's important to be in good cardiovascular shape to get the most out of your workouts.

I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.

Hey. You haven't given us any info about you, so it's almost impossible to know why you're getting out of breath. What is your build? Do you smoke? Do you have a health problem? How fit are you otherwise?

If you can answer those questions, then I can probably help you out.

I agree with the others on improving your endurance with running or aerobic exercise. One thing that I would add is when you are sparring don't forget to breathe. It may sound silly but it does happen. We have a student in our class that when sparring seemed to tire quickly. We watched him closely and saw that he was concentrating and focusing on his opponent so hard that he would occasionly hold his breathe during certain techniques. Breathing may be an involuntary action and sometimes taken for granted but it is a very important part of being a successful karateka. A steady, rhythmic breathing pattern will help your stamina as well. You be in control of your body. The student in our class has since worked on his breathing and has been much more successful. So, don't forget to breathe. :D I hope this helps you in some way. Good luck!
