gordosan Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 To FIREKA : I do have lots to say against my parents and I did in the past, but as I get older (39...) I do it much less cos I realize that they are human and have their own way of thinking which is difficult to match with the new generation of their sons, neither with the different culture (they ,as your parents were born in another country, and if you are interested in different cultures you should understand that it is very difficult to satisfy both people coming from other cultures about some subjects). Today I look at what they did with me as a child/teenager and I respect them even for the things I think are totally wrong, because I know they did what they were thinking is the best for me, and that's what really important ! I respect them for that. I hope 4 u that your children will respect u for your good intentions ,though not agreeing with what you say , and they for sure will not agree with lots of what you will say !
mArTiAl_GiRl Posted May 12, 2003 Author Posted May 12, 2003 I respect my parents, but sometimes they're annoying Kill is love
fireka Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 the only problem with that is my dad isnt really irish anymore, he is well, his a southern american now. I have been to Dublin recently and you will never find a more laid back group of well bound people. all of them are really open minded and curious more than suspicious of foriegners. of course when you answer there questions they say: "is that so? will the yanks are less of an amadain than id a wager!" witch means there not as stupid as we thought but still this ignorance isnt the problem, the desire to push this ignorance on me is the problem. "i could dance like that!.......if i felt like it...." -Master Betty
battousai16 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 i personally like it when something goes wrong with an irish person and they yell "THE BRITS!". yeah, like the brits gave you that flat tire... god bless the irish!
