SBN Doug Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 You could start training in the basic cutting techniques, with a bokken, without any serious risk IMO. Kuk Sool won teaches sword, long and short, straight and reverse. I'm not sure how much they put in their books, but I'm sure the basic cutting would be in there. fireka Posted April 28, 2003 Author Posted April 28, 2003 i am a strong advocate of the sword. if i had said 'the sai can beat the sword every time no questions asked.' then id be wrong, but i cant denie what ive seen, all i am stating is that the sword is not invincible and that the sai does have the ability to defeat it. no, if i were a soilder in meadevil asia i would carry a sword, but i would carry sais as well, they have many advantages the sword does not, such as concealability. JerryLove Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 Can you beat a sword unarmed? Yes. Is having a sword superior to not having one? Yes. https://www.clearsilat.com
